Legal Profession
The firm acts for several legal practices, for which it not only prepares annual accounts and undertakes audits but also deals with the Partners' own taxation affairs. The firm has an understanding of the way in which the legal profession operate and is fully conversant with the Solicitors' Accounts Regulations. Solicitors Accounts are very different from other entities and we can assist with the design and implementation of accounting systems which comply with the Regulations.
In addition to the above, we also offer a legal bookkeeping service which is explained in more detail in the business services section.
Property
Whether owning one's own home, or buying property as part of an investment strategy, most of us come into contact one way or another with the property market. This is even more the case now, as conventional forms of pension saving are perceived to be unsatisfactory by some investors. For many years, we have acted as advisers to developers, investors, dealers and property professionals such as surveyors, architects and agents. We are happy to advise on all aspects of the property market from acquiring or disposing of your own business premises to investing in a “buy to let” rental property. Often these decisions cannot be taken in isolation but due regard needs to be given to all relevant tax implications.
Charities
The practice is familiar with the changes in accounting treatment for Charities and has a broad range of charities as clients from small local organisations to large Art Centres. The book-keeping requirements and reporting requirement are very different for Charities and we have developed our expertise in this area, assisting with the creation of suitable administration systems that enable clear and transparent analysis. We will assist Charities find their way through the complexities of reporting requirements both for annual accounts and VAT.
